SINCERITY - THOUGHTFULNESS- JOY
Welcome
Canadian born, living in Idaho, and a momma of four.
I love capturing families and the beautiful season of life they are in. As a mother, I know firsthand how meaningful it is to have tangible memories, photos of your kids on the walls, and albums of moments to flip through.
My photography journey began in high school and continued into university, where I spent countless hours shooting black-and-white 35mm film. Over the years, my husband and I have lived in Canada, Utah, and Idaho, and I've had the privilege of photographing families along the way.
Family photos can be stressful. But with me by your side, or more specifically behind the camera, I will do my best to make them as relaxed and enjoyable as possible for you and your loved ones. Don't hesitate to reach out with any questions you might have along the way!

Things to know
Let’s set your family up for a magical experience!
A little preparation goes a long way in setting the tone for a relaxed and enjoyable session, especially for kids!
Talk about the session in a way that makes it feel like an adventure rather than something formal. Let them know we’ll be playing, exploring, and spending time together as a family—no stiff poses or forced smiles required!
BEFORE THE SESSION
Let's Finalize
the Details

My favorite time of day to shoot is golden hour, just before sunset. When it comes to choosing a location, Idaho offers a wide variety of spots to shoot at! Anywhere from landscaped local parks, to wide open meadows or even the beautiful Tetons mountains.
Book essential Appointments

Schedule necessary appointments like haircuts and nail treatments well in advance.
Plan Outfits and Color Scheme

Choose a cohesive color scheme, focusing on coordinating textures and patterns rather than perfectly matching. A great trick is to lay out all outfit options on the floor and take a photo to see what works well together. More on outfits below!
DAY OF SESSION
Feed the Kids First

Since photo sessions are often scheduled during golden hour, it’s tempting to plan a fun dinner afterward. However, full bellies lead to fuller smiles.
Keep the simple

Avoid scheduling vaccinations, birthday parties, and other obligations that day. Adjust kids naps if necessary to help little ones be rested and content.
Pack Essentials

Bring the must have items such as diapers, wipes, hairbrush, and styling products. And any extra things like a blanket that complements your outfits if you have it.
DURING THE SESSION
Keep Moving and
Have Fun

Movement allows you to settle into your natural selves and helps your kids feel more at ease. Whether it’s twirling, walking, or even chasing your little ones, movement lets me capture your family in true and meaningful ways. My philosophy is connection over perfection!
i'll bring Snacks and Bribes

Sometimes little ones might need a little bit of encouraging to cooperate. I have a couple of tools up my sleeve such as playing games as motivation and if needed I keep my camera bag stocked with Smartie Candies.
Tips for the
Parents

During the session, think of me as your extra set of hands and a calming guide for your family. Your focus should be on enjoying each other and staying happy and calm,m, even when things feel chaotic, and let’s be honest, chaos is part of the fun!

STyle Guide
1. Where to Start
If your dream outfit doesn’t immediately spring to mind, here are a few tips to help you plan.
2. Consider the Location
Wear something that fits the vibe of the location and allows you to move easily, there will be plenty of movement! If you love wearing heels, bring a pair of slip-ons or sneakers for walking to our destination.
3. Stay True to You
If you’re not a dress person, don’t feel pressured to wear one. Your photos should reflect you! Opt for something stylish and true to your personality that makes you feel comfortable and confident.
4. Pick a Color Palette
I love neutrals and muted earth tones: think olive green, tan, blush, cream, muted or deep blues, and similar shades. Steer clear of large blocks of red, pink, or bright colors, as they can cast unwanted tones onto skin or other family members on sunny days. Small accents of these colors can add a fun touch, like a subtle red trim along the sleeve of a jacket, but it’s best to keep them minimal for a balanced look. Or go for a softer, muted tone of that color.
5. Coordinate, Don’t Match
While matching outfits can be cute, coordinating is a better way to showcase everyone’s individuality. Use a mix of neutrals with pops of color that complement each other. Start with one outfit (Mom’s is often a great starting point) and build around it using similar tones and textures.
6. Mind Patterns
Patterns can be beautiful when used thoughtfully. Avoid small stripes or overly busy designs, as they can cause visual distortion in photos. Mix patterns strategically—for example, pair florals with stripes or solids—but keep them as statement pieces rather than overloading.
7. Add Texture and Layers
Accessories like cardigans, bows, boots, hats, or scarves add depth and dimension to your photos. Layers are especially great for colder sessions, adding both style and comfort.
